Ooh la la... concrete!

Who knew I could get so excited over concrete being demo'd and poured?  It has been the big home improvement project of 2013 thus far.  My superman husband, father in law and brother in law demo'd our old driveway in a weekend.  I just think they were really all curious to see what it felt like to run a jack hammer.  After phase one was done, then the hauling of the concrete into our dumpster began for a few days.  Scott would come home from work and haul all of the pieces by hand down the driveway until darkness fell.  Belle helped a bit too.  Our contractor arrived and phase three was excavating the driveway so we had less of a steep pitch and pouring brand new concrete!  It has made such an improvement to our curb appeal.  In less than one week we can finally park on it since it will be completely cured by then.  Three cheers for concrete!

Here we go!

Hiking in Forest Park

A perk of living in Portland is having Forest Park trails less than 10 minutes from your home.  We broke out Scott's new Kelty backpack that was his birthday gift this year and did a nice paced hike for this 29 week pregnant belly.  The fresh air was just what we needed and the exercise felt good too.  The pack was a hit with Belle even.  Scott is already dreaming of hauling her around in it this summer on a few fishing trips in Central Oregon.

28 Weeks - Bump to Bump

Last night we celebrated the start of our third trimester with baby boy by having Adam and Sybil over for dinner.  They are due with baby girl Guggenheim any day now!  We are so excited for them to experience the adventure of parenthood.

April is flying by!

April seems to be flying by for us.  We have had a major home improvement project going on for the past week and hope to have a blog post about it soon.

Belle continues to amaze us daily.  Just when you think you know your child, they seem to change.  She has been sleeping in lately (of course never on the weekend); she is learning new words; her ability to let us know what she thinks with one glare or furrow of her brows scares us; she would rather be outside rain or shine than stuck indoors and her kisses and hugs are still the best part of our days.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Enjoying lunch outside in the sunshine a few weeks ago.  She isn't sure about the sun bonnet just yet.
Barbecue with friends down on the waterfront
Cruising the neighborhood in the restored wagon by Dad.  Yes, Scott put wheels that big on her wagon.
Belle is obsessed with airplanes and points up every time she hears one flying overhead
Big smile with Grandma
Our sleeping beauty.  She found a spot in between Dad and my pregnancy pillow.
