Welcome Ty

Ty Everett Price - Born July 28th, 2010

Our good friends Wes and Jocelyn Price became parents to a healthy baby boy.  Wes and Jocelyn hold a special place in our hearts for many reasons, but the major one is because we met at their wedding almost four years ago.  We are so excited for them to be parents and hope to see them very soon.  Another reason to book those flights up to Alaska, besides the fishing!

Harriet Lake

On Sunday night Scott turned to me and asked if I wanted to go camping this week and I said with you?  Sure!  Monday evening we hit the road and headed to Harriet Lake, just a few hours south east of Portland.  To be honest, two nights of camping is my max and one night is perfect.  We had a really good time on the lake with our inflatable kayak and Scott was able to fish, fish and fish some more.  I even got in on the action and caught a trophy fish, but was unable to land it.  Thank you Scott for the impromptu night away!
10 camping spots and one lake with plenty of stocked fish

Scott was up at 6:30 in the morning fishing on the lake

Do I look like I haven't brushed my hair or teeth or washed my face?
Fish on baby!
We caught a total of 5 this morning

Man, they are slippery!

Hello

I have been awful at blogging since I arrived in Portland.  Here is a brief recap of what has been going on since Scott returned.
We are eating at some of the places we missed the most in Portland.  The fried oyster eggs benedict above is from Screen Door, the best southern food in Portland.  We ate Hawaiian grinds at Bamboo Grove the day Scott landed, the macaroni salad is so bad for you, yet so good.  This past Friday we tried the sushi at Sinju, all of the rolls were delicious.  Of course with the summer season upon us we have been grilling a lot as well.
We are enjoying family time.  Logan and his parents joined us for breakfast at Screen Door as well.  I can't believe our nephew is two and can almost say our names.  Scott enjoyed five days in Sisters and at the cabin with his family, meanwhile I stayed back and worked and previewed some homes for us.
We saw this movie.  It was good, but I feel like I need to see it again to make sure I was following all of the plots correctly.
We put an offer on this house.  Unfortunately, it was denied.  We are going to think about it more.  Our experience has been it is not a "buyer's market" in Portland, the prices have just stabilized.  Timing is everything, so we will continue our search and continue to watch this home.
We are together again and that is all that matters!

Weekend Plans

Our weekend plans:

1.  Be together!  Scott has spent the week in Sisters and at the cabin in Burns with his family and he should
be driving back to Portland as I type.
2.  House hunt!  We looked at seven homes last weekend and I looked at three this week.  We have a list of
about five homes to look at on Saturday.
3.  Eat good food!  I am thinking sushi and maybe attend the Brew fest and who knows what else.
4.  Exercise!  I miss my evening walks with Scott.
5.  And once again, just be together.

This sale might be my 6th item on the list...

I love our Mac

Our air shipment arrived this week and I was most excited to pull our computer out and set it up.  I have missed you Mac!  Not only has uploading photos been a challenge on other computers, I have missed listening to all of my music while hanging around the house.  This computer was my lifeline to the world outside of Switzerland for a year and a half and I love it!  I don't know what I would have done during my months of being a housewife if it weren't for this electronic device that served not only as our computer, but also as our stereo and TV.

Scott lands in an hour and a half and I am so excited I have butterflies in my stomach.  Stay tuned for many more blog updates now that we are together again and our trusty Mac is by our side to share our adventures with you.

House Hunting

Let the house hunting begin!  This Sunday we plan to begin to hit the pavement to find our perfect home to have together in Portland.  I am very curious to see where and what we end up purchasing.  I am currently thinking about all of the different neighborhoods, styles of homes, commute times, property taxes, paint colors and neighborhood grocery stores!  This photo is actually one of the homes we hope to view on Sunday.

Garage Sale

Calling all Yard Sale Junkies!

The City of Lake Oswego has organized a community wide garage sale and they even provide a map here.  I plan to be there checking out the treasures and I hope to see some familiar faces!  Just don't take what I would like.

The basket on the left is what I found last weekend while checking out various yard sales with my Mom and sister.  I was pretty proud of the find.  I have an addiction for baskets.  I also found an old silver bracelet (that polished up nicely) and some photo coffee table books.  Now, we just need to find a home for me to put all of this stuff!

Lupa & Mississippe Ave. Pizza

Last week the girls and I got together to celebrate Hilary's 21st birthday (or maybe a little older than that).  It was so fun to be in the group again, I have missed quite a few birthday celebrations over the past year and a half.  We started the night at the wine bar, Lupa, on Mississippi Ave.  It is a really neat wine bar that has floor to ceiling shelves with bottles.  I hope to take Scott there when he is back.
Tia read a moving birthday poem to Hilary that gave us all a good laugh.

The night ended with pizza and pitchers of PBR at Mississippi Pizza Pub.  I think with all of our gabbing we were really close to solving all of the world's problems, right girls?

Update on Scott:  The countdown is now only 13 days!
