The biggest challenge about moving to Switzerland has been just adjusting to so many things being different or new. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, but sometimes it can just simply wear you down. Today I had the opportunity to video Skype my friend Jesse who currently lives in Tokyo, Japan. Jesse moved abroad for the first time back in August of 2006 when she accepted a teaching position in Lugano, Switzerland. She has since become quite the world traveler, teaching and living in Bosnia for a year and now Tokyo. I have enjoyed our "Skype dates" and relating to her on a whole new level now that we also live abroad. Thank you Jesse for being a good friend and helping me transition. Who knew back in 1997 when we were freshman college roommates we would now be talking to each other with so many miles between us?
Also, thank you for the wedding gift.

We all look so young in that picture! Thanks for letting me drink my evening 2 glasses of wine while you drank your morning sparkling apple juice. You are doing great and I love hearing about Switzerland...finally someone else who's friends also live in the computer!
