We are back in travel mode! After taking the month of December off, we are once again planning trips around Europe. First stop is Amsterdam! Scott has had the opportunity to explore the city some on a previous trip, but I have only been able to experience the airport. Do you have any must see suggestions?

I love Amsterdam!!! I would say a must-see is the Ann Frank house. What an experience.
ReplyDeleteDon't miss Anne Frank's house for sure! Take a stroll through the Vondelpark and stop at one of the brown cafes for the best beer you've ever had! We really liked our affordable B&B but you have to share the shower & toilet with one other room.
ReplyDeleteHeather - Amsterdam is the greatest!
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed the Van Gogh museum. And defintely take a walk in the red light district just to be thankful for who YOU are :)
Rent a bike! Rent a bike! Rent a bike! You can take a long bike ride (on bike paths all the way) to Haarlem or Leiden, too, both quaint small versions of Amsterdam. Or you can even ride to the beach. Eat some panekokken, stroopwaffels, gouda, and frites in a cone with curry ketchup. Don't buy tulip bulbs to bring home...mine ended up with a gazillion bugs running throughout. Have fun! I love that country.
ReplyDeleteIf you decide to go on a canal cruise, do it your first day. It'll help you establish your bearings before walking or biking the city during the rest of your stay. Have fun!!! Also, check out Haarlem (probably my favorite city in Europe).
