Our hotel, Cote des Olivades, was in the quaint village of Paradou. We arrived right at dusk and enjoyed a glass of rose wine and appetizers in the lobby before walking into town in search of a restaurant for dinner. Surprisingly (or not depending on your interactions with French people), we were turned away at two different restaurants before being accepted by the third and even then he asked for us to be "speedy." Luckily, we were still able to enjoy a nice meal and for the first time ever I tried steak tartare! The evening ended with us strolling back to our hotel and talk of our plans to go wine tasting in the region the following day.
